Coming out of high school, the Army ROTC Program is a great way to establish productive habits. Additionally, you immediately find yourself surrounded by committed and motivated individuals at UNC. The program will challenge you physically and mentally, all while shaping you into a better leader and person. The Army is a profession. The end goal of being in the ROTC program is to commission as an officer in the U.S. Army. Below are the steps that need to be completed to become a part of the Tar Heel Battalion.
1. APPLY TO UNC: Use the following website to apply: http://admissions.unc.edu/Apply/First_Year_Students/default.html Follow all of the instructions on this site and call the admissions office at 919-966-3621 with any questions.
2. APPLY FOR ROTC SCHOLARSHIP: Apply for an Army ROTC scholarship online at http://www.goarmy.com/rotc/scholarships.jsp
3. VISIT: While you are waiting for acceptance notification you should visit the UNC campus and take a tour. To schedule a tour, click on the following click https://admissions.unc.edu/visit/schedule-your-visit/. While you are visiting, you should also schedule a meeting with Mr. Ron Henry, at ronhenry@unc.edu, to review your progress.
4. GET ACCEPTED: As soon as you are accepted you need to notify the UNC Army ROTC department to begin your journey as a Cadet in the Tar Heel Battalion.
