CPT Chris Bascomb

 

Chris was born and raised in Oradell, NJ. He graduated from River Dell Regional High School along with his twin brother, Trevor, in 2012. He then graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2016 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Simultaneously, he commissioned as an Engineer Officer and Second Lieutenant in the United States Army.

 

Chris attended Engineer Basic Officer Leader Course (EBOLC) at Fort Leonard, MO, following college graduation. He then moved to Nashville, TN, in 2017 for his first active-duty Army assignment as a Platoon Leader in the 21st Engineer Battalion at Fort Campbell, KY. In 2019, following his back-to-back completion of U.S. Army Ranger School and U.S. Army Airborne School, he attended the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) at Fort Moore, GA. At the end of the 3-week selection process, he was hired for service in the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment, also known as the Army Rangers. Chris served as a Ranger Battalion Engineer from 2019 to 2021 at Fort Moore and overseas in Afghanistan as well. After serving in the 75th Ranger Regiment, Chris remained at Fort Moore and attended the U.S. Army Maneuver Captains Career Course (MCCC). He then relocated to Raleigh, NC, to serve as the Assistant Operations Officer for the 27th Engineer Battalion (Airborne) at Fort Liberty, NC, from 2021-2023.

 

Chris departed the active-duty Army in July 2023 after 7.5 years of service to pursue a fulltime Master’s of Business Administration with a sub-discipline in healthcare at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He is currently on track to graduate in May 2025. Following graduate school, Chris plans to remain and work in Raleigh-Durham.

 

When Chris is not in school, he enjoys being an active member of his local church, being an ROTC instructor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill, volunteering, running, and spending time with his fiancée Gina, family, friends, and dog.
