Color Guard
Color Guard is one of the most noticeable extracurricular activities within the Tar Heel Battalion. Being part of the Color Guard allows cadet to learn the proper procedures for presenting the colors. Once trained, they will get an opportunity to represent the ROTC program in public sporting events and other major activities. Every MSIII and MSIV in the program is required to do at least one Color Guard event during each semester.
Pershing Rifles
Pershing Rifles, the nation’s premier military-oriented fraternal organization, is a drill team that practices weekly. The team is also an opportunity to gain experience working in leadership roles. Each spring, the team competes at NATCON, a national competition against Pershing Rifles teams from other ROTC programs.
